New InsulLiving Display Home Opens
Bondor® , Australia’s leading supplier of thermal building solutions, has brought in the new year by opening the doors of New South Wales’ first seven-star energy rated InsulLiving® display home.
Hosted by the Minister for Employment, Hon. Eric Abetz and Bondor General Manager Geoff Marsdon, this display home showcases Bondor’s revolutionary InsulWall® and SolarSpan® thermal building products, which deliver a better insulated home with lower ongoing heating and cooling expenses.
This stylish new home in Bingara Gorge, Wilton was built by Hampshire Homes, following the lead of Bondor’s prototype InsulLiving® house built in Burpengary, Queensland, which recently achieved an incredible ‘real life’ energy rating of 9.5 stars.
Bondor® General Manager Geoff Marsdon said the InsulLiving® system had been very successful in other states and was well suited to everyone within the New South Wales residential building sector, from designers and builders through to home owners.
“This is a first for New South Wales and we are excited to bring this revolutionary new building system to help create more sustainable homes in this state,” said Mr Marsdon.
“We believe that the thermal efficiency offered by insulated panels, along with their versatility, has been largely untapped, but is emerging as a key element in the future of the built environment.”
Mr Marsdon said much like the Burpengary InsulLiving® prototype, this new home had the potential to earn a higher, ‘real life’ energy rating than its designed rating.
Jeremy Smith, Managing Director of Hampshire Homes, praised the ongoing support of Bondor® throughout the building process, and the incredible innovation shown in the InsulLiving® product.
He said as a smaller, specialised building company, Hampshire Homes was always on the lookout for innovative products to give them a point of difference from competitors.
“It’s just so vastly different from the everyday market; you’ve got the high ceilings, cross flow ventilations, and more. To me, I think there is a future for this product,” said Mr Smith
Minister for Employment, Hon. Eric Abetz, says the sort of innovation shown through the InsulLiving® product is exactly what Australia needs.
“This innovative building technique is clearly a mark of the future, it will combine Australian-made product with the needs of the Australian environment to ensure we have good insulation in Queensland to keep the heat out- and in my home state of Tasmania keep the heat in,” say Mr Abez.
“What Australia needs in innovative companies that are willing to work in with Australian companies and Bondor does that exceptionally well.”
